2021 Book Challenge! #readingchallenge #goodreadchallenge #booksread #writingcommunity #whattoread

Here are almost all of the books I read in the Goodreads 2021 Reading Challenge. There were a couple I couldn’t find on Goodreads and I forgot to go back and add them in later. Of course, time passed and now I can’t remember which books I couldn’t find.

I was happy to hit 100 again and I reviewed all of them, except Stephen King’s book. I usually only review indie books.

The very best of the books I read, I showcase in “Books That Change Me.”

I’m going for 75 books again in 2022. I’m four into that.

Here are the books that made 2021 a much better year.

Note

Two covers aren’t showing up. They are: “Out of Poland” by Rox Burkey and Charles Breakfield, and “Ella: A Romantic novella” by Marlena Smith.

Embrace your inner child by reading a good book and leave the gift of a review after. D. L. Finn

    1. Thanks,Jan 🙂 It was and I loved every minute of it. Here’s to a new year of reading.

  1. What a wonderful collection of books, Denise. You read a lot of fabulous titles in 2021. 100 books is an awesome total to hit. It looks like I read 31 out of your 100, but I see many more on my TBR!

    1. Thanks, Mae 🙂 There was a lot of amazing stories last year and I know I found several from your blog reviews. Here’s to a great year of reading.

  2. Bravo, Denise! This is an incredible achievement. I love your selection, many of which I’ve enjoyed as well and still others that wait on my kindle. Wishing all the best for 2022! 💗

    1. Thanks, Harmony 🙂 It was a great year of reading Although 2022 is starting off just as exciting.

  3. Congratulations on reaching your goal, Denise. That’s quite a list, and I’m honored to have been among the many titles you selected. Best wishes on your 2022 challenge!

  4. That’s quite an accomplishment, Denise. I set a goal of fifty books again this year, although I read around sixty four last year. I started to up the challenge, but decided to play it safe.

    1. I like to set a goal where it’s possible to exceed it:) Good luck with your reading goal, Joan!

  5. You did great, Denise. Congrats! I love the way Goodreads tracks and presents the year of books in review. Wonderful to browse all those covers! And I’m tickled to see The Ferryman in there – thank you! I chose 100 books again this year, but I’m only two in, which isn’t good. But January has been busy, so we’ll see.

    1. Thanks, Diana, you did too! I love the Goodreads Challenge too. It’s so nice to have my reading tracked and then to see them all together 🙂 I’m moving slow this year too, but lots of time left. Good luck this year xo

  6. Lady, I envy you and your reading accomplishments! Well, let’s be honest, I envy your writing accomplishments too! 😉 I see so many wonderful books being displayed, many that are on my TBR list. I still haven’t hopped back into the Goodreads wagon but I definitely need to! Thank you so much for sharing, Denise. And a special thank you for including my book in your reading list.

    1. Thank you, Mar 🙂 I appreciate that. Xo You have some good reading ahead! I love being a part of Goodreading Book Challenge. It keeps track of what I’m reading and encourages me to read just a little more.

      1. I appreciate the inspiration! I spent last night updating my GR account. When I connected it to my Amazon, I was a little surprised by how many books I have actually purchased in recent years. lol Here’s to a great year! 🙂

      2. It’s great to really see what we buy and read isnt it? It’s going to be a great reading, and writing, year!

    1. I trade sleep for dome of that reading, but so worth it! I look forward to reading more of your books this year.

  7. Denise, I don’t know HOW you read so many books and still find time to write! You are a wonder! Thank you so much for reading my books and for your awesome reviews. You’re the BEST!

    1. Thanks, Patty 🙂 I sleep less…lol. Reading is calming to me, unless the character is in trouble…

  8. A wonderful selection of books, Denise. I review everything I read. I have this idea that if I review a wide variety of books, I’ll have less hassles with posting my reviews to Amazon. Not sure if it makes a difference or not, but I’ve only had one review rejected ever and that was due to something I said.

    1. Thanks Robbie 🙂 I have the same idea, and try to review as many different authors as I can.

    1. It was a great reading year and your stories contributed to that! I always want to promote those good stories I read. Xo

  9. Wow Denise, 100 books! Amazing! I noticed a few I’ve read as well. I just came from reading your newsletter. Your editing process before you send to editor is just like mine. 🙂 Such a gruel. I was so happy when I learned that Word could read test aloud (even if there is no emotion, lol), Amazing how much we pick up from hearing after we think we’re done editing. 🙂 xx

  10. Thanks, Debby. Iit waa fun reading 😉 There are days when I only get through a couple of pages. It is a gruel, I agree. I crack up at how some of the words are pronounced in that word program, but it really does help a lot. xo

  11. You have been a very busy woman, Denise! I loved seeing all the covers together. Plus, I was tickled pink to see so many from Dead of Winter. I’m so happy that you are part of the journeys. I hope your February is off to a brilliant start. Hugs on the wing.

    1. Yes, always busy, happy when it’s reading time. Yes, I really am enjoying Dead of Winter. Its on a good start, hope yours is too. Hugs back xo
