Hi! Here is Colleen Chesebro’s Tanka Tuesday Weekly Poetry Challenge #236. It is a theme prompt and the word given is, Expedition.
I went with an inner journey and presented it in Tanka form. I liked adding it to a picture I took when we visited the redwoods last month.
Just beautiful, Denise!
Thank you, Joan 🙂
The photo and the last two lines of your verse bring a wonderful feeling of calm.
Hope your vacay was wondrous.

Thanks, Sandra. There is always that calm when we finally take that road we are meant to be on 🙂
It was a relaxing one, we stayed close to home and swam and star gazed. xo
Sounds wondrous.
Well done, Denise. This is beautiful… aspirational. I love the photo too. Hugs on the wing.
Thank you, Teagan 🙂 I’m happy you felt those words and enjoyed the picture. Hugs on the wing right back to you xo

What a lovely tanka, Denise. I’ve never seen the Redwoods, and if your photo is any indication, I’ve missed a magnificent experience with the trees. <3
Thank you, Colleen:) I was lucky to grow up near the redwoods. They have amazing presence having been around so long. I love to think of all the things they’ve seen.
Absolutely, Denise… I can only imagine. What a story they would have to tell. <3
