WEEKLY TANKA TUESDAY POETRY CHALLENGE NO. 213 #EKPHRASTIC #PHOTOPROMPT #Tanka #Poetry #Poems @ColleenChesebro

Here’s my tanka poem for Colleen Chesebro’s Weekly Tanka Tuesday Poetry Challenge.

The challenge as stated by Colleen: “This challenge explores Ekphrastic writing inspired by visual art (photographs).” Also, we are to use the psychology of color.

Here’s the picture provided:

THE GIFT

The angel’s gift shone
Like a rainbow umbrella
In a vile gray world
Curious, I approached her
And saw the soul of the world.

    1. Thanks, Colleen. You provided a picture that offered so much to work with. Magic did find it’s way through it.

  1. Beautiful, Denise. “…the soul of the world.” 💗 Truly amazing how you captured that sense in the poem.

    1. Not too productive, but the evening is pleasant:) Thank you! Hope your muse is treating you well xo

  2. New here. The photo was frightening enough. Your words brought strange reassurance in spite of the “gray world.”
Note, my website is as yet under construction.

    1. Welcome, Carole:) Thank you. I’m happy the words brought you found that reassurance! Glad you stopped by.
