Here’s Colleen Chesebro Tanka Tuesday Poetry Challenge #228. This week is the poet’s choice.
I decided to use one of the poems I wrote on the back of a Harley last weekend, along with a picture I took. No pens lost during this process. Here is my Haiga.

childhood in the sky
I’ve not heard of Hagia before, but I love your poem. I remember how much fun it was to find shapes in the clouds.
Thank you, Joan. It’s basily a combination of a haiku and image 🙂
“Childhood in the sky.” I love that. Nicely done, Denise.
Thank you, Staci. Childhood, summer, and cloud watching seem to go together!
I still love to look at clouds and find people, animals, etc. from their formations. Love your haiga.
A fellow cloud watcher! I agree it’s still fun to find the shape appear in the sky:) Thank you, Karen. Xo
Ooo, I love this! Especially “childhood in the sky.”
Wonderful, Denise!
Thank you, Mae! Cloud watching is looking through that inner child’s eyes.
Purrfect as always. Floating fluffy shapes is a wondrous visual.
Thank you, Sandra:) It was like we were heading right toward them that day.
Excellent, Denise.
Thank you, John 🙂
😊
Love it. There’s something about a Harley, isn’t there?
Thank you, Jacqui. Yes, there is and it seems to open up the creativity.
Oh, I love that, Denise – “childhood in the sky.” Just perfect for the photo!
Thank you, Jan:) When I think of my summers of youth I think of cloud watching.
Lovely bringing back that wonder of simple moments of childhood, Denise.
Thank you, Marje:) It is such a simple moment but one we all seem to remember.
Yay! What fun that must have been riding a Harley. Those clouds! <3
It’s always fun, Colleen:) So freeing that it makes the creativity flow. Yes, gorgeous clouds that day.
It’s a gorgeous spot! Those clouds 😍
Perfect. Who hasn’t seen shapes in the clouds during their childhood?
It sure seems we used all cloud gaze as children. I still look up and see if there’s something there 🙂
So do I. Vince and I do it as we drive along – probably shouldn’t while we’re driving, but I think it’s a good mental exercise as long as the shape doesn’t distract you from watching traffic. 🙂
You make a good point about it being a good mental exercise too! It’s hard not to look:)
Exactly. We were driving the other day and Vince saw something in the clouds. It took me a while longer to see. Fortunately I wasn’t driving. 🙂
You get a lot of inspiration on the back of the Harley, Denise. I liked your lovely poem. The weather is good for riding.
I do! I think because it immerses me in the world with no walls. Perfect weather. We rode again this weekend, but no poetry this time.
I understand the feeling, Denise. The weather is nice here. We should do something also.
Beautiful
Thank you, Jude!
My pleasure.
Love it Denise.. I always used to lie in the grass and make up stories about the cloud formations… amazing what you can see.. hugsx
