Here’s Suzanne Burke’s ‘Fiction In A Flash Challenge’ Week #23 NEW IMAGE PROMPT.
I’ve been busy editing late into the night all week to meet a deadline. I think I’m finally done in time to start the NaNo. Whew! Sorry if I’ve been missing the last couple of days, but this ran into Halloween which I’m enjoying today.
I couldn’t pass up this beautiful picture. I have two poems, a Tanka and Haiku that came to me last night. I couldn’t choose.
Here’s the Tanka which is 5/7/5/7/7:
Aloft over river
The landscape glows with autumn
Peaceful under wings
When a hollow hunger calls
Abundance rewards the hawk.
And now the Haiku 5/7/5:
My wings carry me
High above the autumn glow
I soar with angels.
Happy Halloween! I’m off to enjoy more scary fun. D. L. Finn

Well done on both, Denise.
Thanks John 🙂
These are lovely, Denise. All the best with NaNoWriMo
Thank you, Robbie. I’m looking forward the journey.
Ahhh…so lovely. You absolutely SOAR with the angels. 💜
Thank you, Gwen. If I do you are right with me:)
Each poem is beautiful and well-written.
Thank you, Karen. That’s good to hear since I feel like I rushed them. xo
These are both such great takes on the prompt, Denise. Wonderfully visual! Thanks for taking part again. I wish you well with NaNoWrimo. I’m so pleased that you clearly enjoyed a great Halloween. I’ve just shared this post on the challenge site. 😊
Thank you, Soooz. It was a wonderfully visual picture to work from, how could I pass it up? I did enjoy the day. It was different, but we made a couple of walks, one in the day and one at night through a local town that decorated. At night my daughter insisted we wear plague doctor masks….
I’m so pleased you were able to take those walks. We had a very quiet Halloween this year. Hopefully the restrictions will ease a little and we’ll be free to go trick or treating next year.
I can easily see why you couldn’t choose between the two. They are both beautiful, Denise!
Thank you Jan. It makes me happy to hear you say that:)
I’m glad you posted both, Denise. Well done!
Thanks Mark 🙂
